Abuse and neglect is something that can take a heavy toll on just about any dog, and it should be stopped at any cost. 

Aside from the psychological trauma inflicted on a pup, most of them have some sort of a physical scar or even a medical problem caused by abuse.

It’s horrifying to even think about, but it’s something that happens in the world. Only we have the power to change that and give new meaning to the lives of these dogs.

This shelter dog had been through some horrible things, but he was lucky that he got another chance when he met his new mom who adopted him.

A Love Line

When Charlie was first discovered in New York on his own, he was a stray and his rescuers immediately took him to the shelter.

They noticed that he had a strange scar across his snout and they assumed that he had been abused in the past at some point.

The theory was that it was caused by a harness or a muzzle that was too tight and worn too long. There was no way to confirm it, but still, it’s sad that Charlie had to suffer through this much pain.

After Sorg lost her last dog, she was a bit reluctant about adopting a new dog, but then she saw Charlie in a shelter in New York. 

Seeing his scar made her immediately decide to adopt him and provide him with the love and care he likely never had in the past.

She was saddened simply by thinking about what Charlie could have gone through in the past, but she didn’t want to feel that way anymore.

So, she decided to give a nickname to his little scar on the snout. She called it his love line. It was really adorable.

In Sorg’s care, this cheerful pup got a chance to show his personality and he was finally happy. He had everything a dog could dream of in life.

Reaction On The Internet

After Charlie’s adoption, Sorg decided to post a short video about his life and what he is doing now. The clip did surprisingly well and many people flocked to the comment section to voice their opinions on the matter.

One person commented: “I am sobbing about someone mistreating that beautiful boy but then you saved him and his love line! I’m so glad you found each other, give him a boop for me please, lol.”

I agree, it’s really heartwarming to know that Charlie is in good hands with the person who will always love him.

Another person said: “My heart breaks that such a gentle soul was treated so horribly. I am so happy you have found your forever, safe home Charlie.”

Seeing this type of reaction from people will always be wholesome. Dogs are really special and they always bring people together.

Lastly, somebody commented: “What a beautiful boy. How can people do such things? It makes me cry. I had a rescue dog that had been beaten and starved. I made sure the rest of his life was filled with love.”

This comment is really important. Any dog like Charlie who has been through a lot deserves a second chance and they need someone who will give them the love they always deserved. 

It’s the only way they will overcome their trauma and move on. And, I am sure that Charlie will recover and live the most amazing life with Sorg. Seeing the two of them is just so heartwarming. I am glad that this dog has finally met his special person.
