Sweet Rescue Pittie Turns Aggressive After Giving Birth, Leaving Rescuers Shocked

Moms. We rarely encounter better heroes.

Whether it’s protecting their babies from danger or guiding them through life with nothing but pure love, they do it all!

And, it’s practically the same in a dog’s world, too.

Magnolia, the rescue Pittie, knew how hard it was to protect her babies the first time she had them. As an outside dog, she was neglected and constantly in defensive mode, which ultimately made her a fierce fighter for her little ones.

Unfortunately, her trauma didn’t fade even when she arrived at the safest place possible – her rescue home.

She Had A Rough Life

Magnolia arrived at Philly Bully Team in Philadelphia as a pregnant stray. She had been found roaming the streets alone, which led her rescuers to believe she had been abandoned.

Still, her submissive and calm nature made her adjustment easy. She instantly bonded with Jessica and Marvin and began to recover quickly.

Then, a heartbreak unfolded!

Magnolia gave birth to eight little pups, which instantly made her overly protective

Whenever her rescuers tried to feed her near her puppies or come a little closer, she would snap and attempt to bite them. Her previous experience as a mother had traumatized her, resulting in a lack of trust in anyone.

“Magnolia gave birth to 8 babies. Since then, she has become intensely protective of them. It’s clear this wasn’t her first litter, and it appears that she was an outside dog, so we don’t blame her,” PBT wrote in a Facebook post.

Given Magnolia’s condition, Jessica and Marvin knew she couldn’t take care of her babies alone. Sadly, three of her puppies had passed away, and they placed the remaining four in foster care, leaving Magnolia with only one pup.

They closely monitored her for weeks, trying to establish a positive environment and regain her trust.

“Magnolia is scared, but we’re hoping that the environment we can provide her will make her feel more at ease and allow her to get back to her happy, affectionate self,” the Philadelphia rescue added.

They took things slowly, spending weeks encouraging Magnolia with kind words, treats, and TLC. Day after day, they visited her “custom kennel” in the house, approaching her and her baby, Begonia.

Hundreds of tries later, Magnolia eventually gave in!

She realized that Jessica and Marvin meant her no harm, and for the first time ever, she let them pet her little pup.

From that day on, she never looked back!

Magnolia returned to being her old self. She began to enjoy every single minute with her caregivers and even loved the fact that her baby was included. It was as if she had accepted them in her little family, and was happier than ever.

Magnolia’s other pups thrived in their foster home, ultimately resulting in all of them being adopted into amazing families, including Begonia.

But, that wasn’t all!

Soon after, Magnolia also found her forever family. She was adopted by a couple who embraced her with open hearts, willing to give her everything she lacked in the past.

“With time and space, she came around and learned to trust and love — and that all paid off because she found a family that absolutely adores her,” her rescuers stated in an update post.

Today, Magnolia is happier than ever in her new home.

She has blossomed into a wonderful companion who enjoys every aspect of her new life.

Magnolia loves her pawdorable outfits, daily outings, and long walks with her mom and dad. It is safe to say that she has finally found her perfect place – and now she’s thriving.

Happy life, Magnolia!
