Scruffy Puppy Left Tied To A Pole Waits All Night For Someone To Find Him

As a full-time dog rescuer, Suzette Hall is used to saving pups from heartbreaking circumstances. Most of her cases center around dogs found roaming the streets of Los Angeles, California, on their own. But over the weekend, she met an abandoned dog who couldn’t have wandered off even if he’d tried.

The poor pup, left tied to a pole in a residential neighborhood, was stuck on the sidewalk. Scared and confused, the depressed boy watched as people walked past him without attempting to help.

“He was there all night, tied to that pole,” Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, wrote on Facebook. “I seriously can’t believe how many [people] just did nothing.”

A pack of coyotes roamed the neighborhood that night, but the little pup managed to fend for himself when they appeared. Despite his short stature and the disadvantage of being tethered to a pole, the sweet boy survived the night.

Hall was astounded by the vulnerable little guy’s resilience. When she got to the scene, she couldn’t believe how gentle and brave the pup was.

“What a sweet baby who did nothing to deserve that,” Hall wrote. “I told him we would figure it all out.”

Hall promised the dog, whom she named Piñata, that she would find him the loving home he deserved. She scooped him up into her arms, untied his leash from the pole and placed him in her van.

When they hit the road, Piñata sensed he was safe and finally drifted off to sleep.

“The best part and my favorite part is [that] he knew it was going to be OK and fell asleep driving to my vet,” Hall wrote.

The pair soon arrived at Camino Pet Hospital, where Piñata underwent a full medical evaluation. Thankfully, he passed with flying colors. After enjoying a soothing bath and much-needed rest, Piñata headed to his foster home.

Piñata couldn’t be more excited to be in foster care and is already thriving in his new home.

“He is so sweet and kind,” Hall told The Dodo.

Piñata will be available for adoption soon, and he hopes to snag a fantastic family to love for the rest of his life. Until then, the sweet boy will keep making the most of his time in foster care and thanking his rescuers for saving him.

“He is beyond grateful to be rescued,” Hall said. “Look at his smiles now.”
