A desperate puppy was doing his best to survive the harsh conditions of street life.

With his broken paw, the brave boi limped around a truck yard in Los Angeles, sniffing the ground and trying to find something to eat.

The canine had nobody to help him and he risked his life every time he approached the busy nearby road.

When Suzette Hall, the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, received a message about the injured pup, later named Russ, she was determined to help him. 

Hall called her crew and they headed to the location.

Trying To Build Trust 

The traffic in Los Angeles was hectic.

By the time Hall’s friends and volunteers, Rosario and Arturo arrived at the truck yard, it was already getting dark.

Arturo set a trap with yummy treats that attracted Russ who started walking toward the crate, hoping to satiate his hunger.

Just when the hungry dog was about to enter the trap, a man on a bike crashed into the trap. Russ got scared and started looking for a good hiding spot.

“He limped as fast as he could back into the truck yard,” Hall wrote in a Facebook post.

Since it was dark, Arturo and Rosario couldn’t pinpoint where Russ was hiding. 

Two more rescuers, Nuñez Aky and Karla joined forces with Arturo and Rosario.

They searched every part of the truck yard with flashlights, but Russ was nowhere to be seen.

The kind-hearted rescuers didn’t get discouraged and they continued looking for the puppy. They had their minds set on bringing Russ to safety that night.

Russ Put His Faith In Good Humans

Finally, their efforts paid off and they spotted the canine crouching under the biggest truck.

The rescuers felt brokenhearted as they heard Russ whimpering with pain. They called him, trying to calm him down and convince him to come out.

However, Russ’ fear was still holding him back and he refused to leave his hiding place.

The rescue team began talking to him and giving him hot dogs. They hoped to build trust with the pup and lure him out of his hiding place.

An hour later, Russ became convinced that his rescuers were good people who wanted to help him and he surrendered to them. 

Karla picked him up in her arms and the pup breathed a sigh of relief. 

The rescue team promised Russ that his nightmare was over and that he was going to get the best possible medical care.

On the way to the clinic, the puppy looked at his heroes with eyes filled with gratitude. 

He knew that from now on, he was no longer on his own.

Thank you to the wonderful rescuers for rescuing the sweet boi. Because of you, Russ will never feel lonely and scared again.

From now on, all he will know is happiness and immense love.
