After being frightened by a car, the little pup ran under the canal and got stuck in the dark tunnel. She was unable to move until a police officer arrived to help her.
Officer Joe Brazil is always willing to help; in fact, he didn’t hesitate to rescue a helpless dog.
Peggy Edwards posted her story on Facebook on May 2, 2016, and it quickly became popular. The story was heartwarming and touched our hearts.
Joe, a police officer from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, was central to her story. It began when a car scared a beautiful but anxious little Yorkshire terrier.
The first thing the dog did was run away into a tunnel.
“On April 30, a little dog was running free and was frightened by a passing car. He crashed into a tunnel that a local creek runs through. “She was trapped about 20-25 feet away, clinging to the edge,” Peggy began to recount on her Facebook page.
Her instinct told her she had to help the little dog, but she was scared.
She was afraid of scaring the poor dog, which could cause him to go further into the tunnel. Then she had an inspiration.
She quickly called the Woonsocket Police Department for help, and they were not disappointed.
Officer Joe Brazil arrived a few minutes later and was willing to help.
Peggy then recounted what had happened, and the brave officer was willing to help.
“He jumped in without a second thought and came out with a wet, scared little dog.” Lucky dog, he is a fine man. “We are thrilled he was able to save the little girl,” Peggy added.
The kind officer took off his shoes and socks before entering the tunnel to save the little dog.
WJAR NBC10 was able to contact the officer, who said, “As I approached, I could see Cece clinging to the side and shaking. “The dog was extremely, very scared.”
Given the dog’s high level of nervousness, the officer took extra precautions to not scare her further inside the tunnel.
What he did next was amazing!

He let Cece sniff his fingers a little further inside the tunnel until he was close enough to the frightened dog, and then he picked her up.
“It almost seemed like she was saying thank you.” “She seemed to understand that he was there to help her,” Brazil explained to WJAR NBC10.
The beautiful dog seems so loving and grateful to her handsome officer who saved her, as seen in the photo.
In any case, this dog is not a stray. She comes from a beautiful home. Cece is the name of this cute dog, according to another interview with WJAR NBC10.
Cece’s owner, Michelle Perez, was thrilled that her dog had been found. According to her story, her mother-in-law had given her the beautiful pet, but she ran away the next day.
“She’s only 5 months old.” “I couldn’t sleep,” Perez explained in an interview. “All I did was drive around and call her.”
Cece was rescued from the scary tunnel and reunited with her owner thanks to Peggy Edwards and caring Officer Joe Brazil. We’re all glad Cece was saved and returned to her human!
