Who says miracles aren’t real?

I know for a fact that Ralph would disagree if he could speak. This brave little fella has every right in the world to claim otherwise. His life journey, starting from the very beginning, was nothing short of a huge miracle. 

Still, Ralph had many obstacles. His early puppyhood days were far from easy, especially given that he lived in a hoarding situation with more than 60 animals.

He could never have imagined that things would take such a magical turn in such a short time…

Ralph Is The Epitome Of Hope

If I could describe Ralph in only one word, it would definitely be – hope! Born alongside dozens of other animals in a neglectful home, far from anything that could be called “humane conditions,” Ralph’s story is truly fascinating.

The organization that rescued him is called It Takes A Village Animal Rescue, in Muscatine, Iowa. Immediately after being found in such a horrible situation, Ralph was transferred to a foster home.

However, that didn’t last long.

A few days into his new home, the family started to notice something strange in Ralph’s behavior. He shimmied across the ground without even trying to use his front and back legs.

On top of that, Ralph constantly laid on his chest and belly.

His new family was truly shocked. That’s why they decided to alert the rescue, which ultimately resulted in Ralph being thoroughly examined at the vet. And, the results, sadly, were far from good.

The Iowa rescue stated that this little boi was suffering from swimmer syndrome, a developmental deformity whereby the limbs are splayed laterally. Ultimately, it only meant one thing – Ralph was unable to walk or even stand on his feet.

Still, Ralph’s caregivers wouldn’t give up that easily. They decided to move him to another critical care foster home where he was welcomed by an amazing family.

Sarah Evans, alongside her housemates, welcomed this special-needs boi with an open heart, ready to embrace him for who he was. But, giving Ralph love and motivation meant so much more to him. It meant hope and a fighting chance!

Time went by, and some things didn’t change. Ralph’s resilient spirit was only growing bigger – making him constantly try to move and explore new things. And, his family definitely helped in the process.

Ralph got brand-new braces and a therapy track from his family and friends. He did very well in therapy and surprised his loved ones with each new day. 

Until it finally happened…

One day, Ralph was enjoying his daily playtime with his dad when something extraordinary was caught on camera. At one point, this brave boy literally stood up and began to run – as if he were a completely healthy dog.

Amazing!

The dog that was once too weak to even stand on his paws now happily chases his dad around the house. And, he does it with a smile!

Ralph indeed beat all the odds. He’s living evidence that love can overcome every obstacle, including such a big one like an inborn physical disability.

Now, he’s happier than ever, soaking up all the beauty in life and appreciating the fact that he uses all four of his paws in his adventures as he should!
