When Jordyn and Derek Slack opened their front door one day, they were surprised to discover a mysterious visitor standing on the porch of their Tennessee home.

It was a severely malnourished Boxer puppy who needed help. 

He looked at Jordyn and Derek with a sad look on his face, pleading with them to help him. 

The pup had no other place to go and he put all his faith in them, believing that they would show him kindness and compassion.

Feeling heartbroken by his state, Jordyn stroked him tenderly and promised to help him.

Jack Is No Longer Alone

The family fed the pup, later named Jack, and gave him water. 

Jordyn contacted the local shelter and the staff collected him shortly afterward. They took him to the vet, gave him shots, and discovered that Jack didn’t have a microchip.

Wishing to help him find his family, Jordyn posted about Jack on local Facebook pages but she couldn’t get any information.

They didn’t know where Jack came from. They assumed that he didn’t spend much time on his own because he wasn’t dirty and he didn’t have any ticks or fleas. 

When the shelter reached out to the Slack family, asking them if they could foster him for the weekend, they wholeheartedly agreed and took him in.

The couple cuddled him and took great care of him. 

At first, Jack felt exhausted and spent a lot of time resting and sleeping.

Once the pup got much-needed rest, he met the couple’s daughter named Baylor. The two of them struck up a beautiful friendship and Jack refused to leave her side.

Baylor and Jack loved snuggling together.

“He has really taken up with our ten-year-old daughter Baylor. They are the best of friends. I think he has found his person. He follows her everywhere she goes… He loves and she really loves him…“ Slack said in a TikTok video.

The family fell in love with Jack and began considering adopting him. 

The Pup Finds A Forever Home

However, their French Bulldog didn’t get along with him. The two dogs couldn’t be in the same room because they would always fight.

Although Jack captured their hearts, the Slack family had to accept the fact that they couldn’t keep him.

However, they didn’t want to return him to the shelter and they were determined to find him a wonderful home.

Shortly afterward, a kind man contacted them and told them that he was interested in adopting Jack. 

He and his wife had a lot of knowledge about the dog’s breed. They used to have a Boxer dog whom they adored, but sadly he passed away.

Since they were retired, they had a lot of free time and wanted to spend it with Jack, showering him with love.

As soon as the pup met the couple, he felt drawn to them.

“As soon as the lady sat down, he jumped up in her lap and was licking her on the face. It was really sweet and they were so excited,” Jordyn said on TikTok.

Since Jack lives in Athens, Tennessee, just like his foster family, Baylor can visit him anytime she wants.

Although the Slack family feels sad because they couldn’t keep Jack, they are confident that they did what was best for the pup. 

His new family will dote on him and give him the life he deserves.
