Even though the job of a rescuer is extremely rewarding, there are a lot of situations where they are left completely heartbroken.

When a woman named Faith Easdale noticed a little pup sitting by a busy road, she noticed that she was wearing a little pink dress.

This immediately made her conclude that the pup already belonged to somebody and that she was just waiting for them to come and get her. Unfortunately, after a couple of days, Easdale went by that same road and she noticed the pup sitting in the same spot.

Never-Ending Wait

Easdale knew that this sweet girl refused to move because she thought that her hoomans just forgot about her and would come back to get her at any moment.

The pup hung her head, sadness washing over her face.

The rescuer, who was working with Dream Fetchers, a rescue based in California, knew that she needed to do something and help this sweet pup who was all dressed up.

“I thought, ‘Oh no, poor little baby, sitting and waiting. So I raced out there and I didn’t see her. I always panic — praying they found [a] safe haven somewhere, but I continued to search. My friend met me and we started asking people in the area,” Easdale wrote in a Facebook post.

After asking around, one man told Easdale that he noticed the pup hanging around that spot for days and would sometimes hide in the bushes when she got spooked.

After checking every bush in the area, Easdale finally found the adorable pup.

“I walked quietly and there she was, the saddest sight. We very quietly set baby gates around and I went in slowly. She was so scared,” Easdale wrote.

After spending some time with the doggo, Easdale noticed just how sweet she was so she managed to win over her trust in record-breaking time.

“Once I got her settled, she actually crawled in my lap and gave me the sweetest kisses. [I] took off that filthy dress, gave her a nice dinner and soft blanket,” Easdale wrote.

Start Of Something New

The second they got home, Easdale gave her a much-needed bubble bath and gave her a little checkup to see if she had any obvious health issues.

Apart from her severely matted coat, this was one healthy, happy girl! Easdale also checked her for a collar or microchip, but since she couldn’t find one, she wasn’t really sure if somebody had actually dumped such a beautiful pup.

 “We rarely know the story. Usually, if there is an owner, they would have shown up by now. The area wasn’t good where she was sitting and waiting,” Easdale told The Dodo.

The very next morning, the incredible rescuer took this sweet pup for a little doggo spa day. When she came to pick her up, she was absolutely stunned. The pup was unrecognizable!

Naming the pup Sugar, she was finally able to start her new life.

“I feel like this is the turning point so many times — like a little Cinderella story. Giving them a second chance is what keeps us doing this. Keeps pushing, hoping for better days,” Easdale wrote in a Facebook post.

Sugar is in search of a loving foster home that will allow her to finally relax and decompress. After that, Easdale is sure that this adorable girl will find a forever home without a single issue.
