Love, comfort, and safety are something that any dog cherishes when living a life with someone they care deeply about.

However, life can be very cruel, and the pups who once spent days enjoying their lives with their special person now suddenly find themselves in a situation where they lose everything.

It’s not fair, and no dog deserves to go through something like this, but ultimately, it’s probably for the best because a dog deserves someone who loves them unconditionally.

Something similar happened to this dog who was living a very normal life, but then it took a drastic turn when her owner decided to get rid of her.

She Looked So Sweet

It was a very ordinary day at Oklahoma OKC Animal Welfare when an owner came in and decided to surrender her dog.

The workers there gave her some forms to fill out, and the poor pup was about to have her life changed completely.

What makes this even more heartbreaking is that this shelter had a high euthanasia rate, and there was a good chance that this sweet girl wouldn’t have time to find someone new.

This moment caught the eye of one of the workers, Kayla Winrow, who felt deeply saddened about this dog’s situation.

Winrow told Newsweek: “She wasn’t surrendered by her actual owner. Her owner abandoned her months ago at someone else’s home, and when they could no longer care for her, they had no choice but to turn her in to animal welfare services.”

She recorded the whole clip of this pup just lying on the floor of the shelter and waiting. The dog looked so innocent and didn’t even understand what was happening. It made it all the more heartbreaking.

A Hopeful Resolution 

After posting the entire video on TikTok, people were shocked by this dog’s situation and some even offered to help.

One person commented: “The way she’s just laying there being a good girl, breaks my heart. How can people be so cruel!”

Well, it’s really hard to say what the background was for the people who took care of her for a while, but it’s important not to judge considering we don’t know all the details.

Another person said: “I wish people knew that getting an animal is like having a Child, that u dont leave when you’re sick of it. Take your responsibility!!”

This is definitely something that needs to be stated more often. While I know that being a dog owner sometimes is difficult, nobody should ever think about doing something like this to their pup. They don’t deserve it.

The situation does seem dire for this sweet girl, but a local saw the video and decided to come forward and give her a new home.

While we don’t have any information on who it is or if she is there yet, I am glad to see that the outreach has helped her find someone who will take care of her.

It also helped get more attention to this horrible situation. A lot of shelters are dealing with overcrowding and high euthanasia rates, and the Oklahoma rescuers are hoping that this will help raise awareness about the issue so more people adopt dogs who desperately need them.
