Karma the Pit Bull was left squirming in acute pain on the side of a road from a critically broken leg. She didn’t have the will to move because she was hurting so much.

However, people who passed her by didn’t want to go near her as she was a “scary Pit Bull.” Over the next few days, the injured pooch began starving and eventually gave up all hopes of survival.

A passerby alerted the rescue group “Hope For Paws” about Karma’s predicament, and a rescuer quickly drove for 45 minutes to rescue her. Many locals warned the rescuer to be wary of the Pit Bull, but he didn’t care.

As the rescuer approached Karma, she stared at him with her strikingly beautiful eyes, only to turn her face away. She was weary to her core and didn’t want to engage with anyone whatsoever.

The rescuer sensed Karma’s hopelessness and despair, and resolved to make her feel secure in his presence. He offered her some food and gently petted and coaxed her to come with him.

Karma timidly accepted the food, but she showed no interest in getting herself rescued. It was clear that the battered girl had trust issues around humans. She wanted to be by herself, even if it meant suffering a slow death.

The rescuer realized that Karma was not going to come to him on her own. So he cautiously put a leash around her neck to see if she was okay with that.

Strangely, Karma was quite submissive and she never acted up with the leash. As the rescuer continued petting her, she finally took a leap of faith, stood up and agreed to follow him earnestly!

The shy and sweet Karma knew she was surrendering her fate to the rescuer, but something told her that the leash meant hope and healing.

With that heartwarming realization, she rested her head on her savior’s lap and proceeded to shower him with many grateful kisses! What an absolutely precious sight!
