Internet Stunned by the Astonishing Weight of This Puppy

It can be argued that food is the best thing in the whole world.

From little sweet treats to savory delights, there is something for everyone’s liking. I know that my furry friends would agree with this.

They are always in the mood for a yummy meal or even the simplest snack. However, sometimes they tend to get carried away. Even when their tummies are full, they will continue eating as long as there is food in their bowl.

And, even though this may be cute, it can lead to serious issues.

Big And Round

Doug Bishop is an incredible man living a happy life in Virginia alongside his beloved wife and daughters. The Bishop family absolutely adores animals and has a heartwarming history of rescuing and caring for them.

Since 2015, the family has been proud fosters of almost 35 dogs.

Housed on their stunning 10-acre rural property, the Bishops have created a space for their furry companions. The furry members of the family include six rescue dogs, a rescue mule, and three rescue horses.

The newest addition to their family is the cutest Beagle Foxhound mix, Rosco, who is in need of some special attention

After his previous owners passed away, Rosco was found living all by himself for days. However, apart from needing a new family, this pup also needed to loseweight as he weighed 103 pounds.

Let’s Hit The Gym

Before Rosco can find his forever home and achieve better overall health, he needs to shed a few extra pounds.

The second they took him in, Bishop and his family came up with a few different ways to help this pup reach his weight goal. This included daily walks which increased every time.

“He spent the first few days and nights just sleeping and adjusting. Since then, he’s been much more active and greets us at the door and happily wobbles around the house,” Bishop said in an interview

It is important to know that as cute as Rosco is, allowing a pup to get this chubby can lead to some serious health issues, and Rosco is dealing with a couple of them himself.

“We do know he has a heart murmur and elevated liver values that we hope will get better with weight loss,” he added.

Their main goal is to get Rosco down to 65 pounds with a strict but fun diet and exercise. And, they are already seeing incredible progress.

Keep Them Healthy And Fit

In order for them to remain happy and active, our furry friends must not go over a certain weight.

Carrying extra pounds can lead to various health issues, including joint problems, reduced mobility, and even a shorter lifespan.

By ensuring they stay within a healthy weight range, we not only improve their physical well-being but also enhance their quality of life, allowing them to run, play, and enjoy every moment to the fullest.

Therefore, regular exercise, a balanced diet, and routine checkups are key to keeping our beloved pets thriving.

“If anything I post saves another dog’s life, then mission accomplished. The end goal is empty shelters, and we try our hardest to help that! At the end of day, I enjoy making people laugh and that’s all I ever try to do. If I can be someone’s joy in a tough moment, great,” he concluded.
