You never know when a big surprise is about to unfold before you… and when it finally does, how will you react? 

One morning, Zoë, a woman from Atlanta, Georgia, woke up and regularly went out onto her front porch. But, that’s when it struck her! Right there, she stumbled into the biggest furry surprise curled up on their bench. 

Shocked to the core by this strange sight, Zoë didn’t know what to think… yet she knew she had to do something to help.

How Did He Get There

As she came a little closer, Zoë realized it was a severely emaciated stray dog curled up in a ball. To make things even more heartbreaking, this fearful canine was trying to hide his face with his tail and simply “blend in” with the surroundings.

In a TikTok video that immediately went viral, Zoë showed the extent of the dog’s trauma. 

“Woke up to a stray dog sleeping on our front porch,” she wrote in the description.

He literally shivered with fear all the time until he realized the human who had just run into him was there to help.

The comment section under the video was flooded with heartbreaking reactions in no time!

“Covering his face with paw AND tail. I wish him years of happiness,” one user commented.

“So sad, he’s trying to make himself invisible. He just wanted a safe spot to sleep. Ugh, I wish I could save them all,” another added.

After initially checking for his microchip, Zoë rushed to find a solution. Unfortunately, the dog had no information despite the collar on his neck, which was a pretty good indicator that he had been abandoned.

Then, a glimmer of hope emerged when a neighbor offered to emergency foster the dog, later named Capital. Zoë, who already had two reactive dogs and a one-year-old baby, couldn’t have been more thankful.

Sadly, things were far from settled. 

When she reached out the next day to see how this fearful boi was doing, the neighbor informed her that they had surrendered him to a high-euthanasia animal shelter in Atlanta, Georgia, listing Capital’s “reactiveness to their other dogs” as the reason.

“He was taken to the Fulton county animal shelter by the person who signed up to foster him, without telling me,” added Zoë.

Capital Needs Help

Ever since Capital was surrendered to the shelter, Zoë has been searching high and low for his ideal home. Devastated by her inability to adopt him, she’s been posting pleas on her TikTok account, hoping someone would eventually reach out and give Capital a chance.

On a positive note, the dog’s adoption fees have already been covered by a kind donor.

“He is in Atlanta and needs a home if anyone is able to help. His adoption fees have been paid,” wrote Zoë. 

Capital hopes his adopters are just around the corner. According to his finder, this gorgeous pup is friendly and doesn’t show signs of aggression toward people, despite the horrible trauma he has endured in the recent past.

He certainly deserves someone who will show him kindness at last!
