When a sweet soon-to-be mother dog named Molly most needed the love and comfort of a home, her owner surrendered her to a shelter.

At first, the doggo felt confused and worried. Fortunately, she soon realized that even though she didn’t have a family anymore, she wasn’t alone. 

The shelter found her a foster family who took her under their care and helped her deliver her eight puppies.

Molly loved them immensely and she couldn’t help worrying about their future. She wanted her puppies to find a forever home.

The Perfect Foster Home

Fortunately, Blount County Animal Welfare Society, based in Alcoa, Tennessee, stepped in. 

They pulled out Molly and her puppies, promising them a new beginning.

The mother dog cared for her babies with a lot of love. 

Once they reached the proper age to be adopted, they moved to Homeward Bound Dog Rescue of New York, a non-profit organization in New York. 

They were placed in great foster homes and started looking for their places under the sun.

A wonderful family volunteered to foster Molly. They couldn’t wait to give her a lot of love and help her enjoy her life.

Little did they know that they needed Molly as much as she needed them.

Three days after she arrived at her foster home, Molly’s foster family suffered a loss. Their beloved dog and their first foster fail, Sassy, crossed the rainbow bridge.

“…I have never had a dog look at me with so much love like Sassy did up to the very end,” Samantha McGuire, Molly’s mom, told The Dodo.

McGuire was heartbroken after she said goodbye to Sassy. She curled up on the couch and started sobbing.

Molly noticed that her foster mom was hurting and she rushed to her side.

“Molly came right up and laid on top of me with her paws on my chest and wouldn’t move. I was confused and so distraught, so I thought maybe she just wanted attention. I kept crying, and she pressed into me and let me hold her, and I realized she was comforting me,” McGuire added.

Although she was never trained to be a therapy dog, Molly knew exactly how to comfort her. She laid on her foster mom’s chest and helped her calm down.

The Love She Deserved

Even when McGuire felt better, Molly stayed by her side.

At that moment, her foster mom knew that she could never give her up. The sweet mama dog turned out to be a foster fail just like Sassy was.

McGuire was convinced that Sassy sent Molly to help her get through a difficult period in her life.

Her foster dad and her human siblings were thrilled because the lovely dog would stay with them. She captured the hearts of the whole family as soon as they met her. 

Molly has a lot of love to give and is extremely gentle with the kids. She lies next to them until they drift off to sleep.

McGuire feels grateful to have Molly in her life. She and her family consider her a gift sent from above.

The adorable doggo lives her dream life with her family. They pamper her and spoil her with love.
