Family Mourned Their Senior Dog Until a Miracle Happened

Once a dog comes into your home, they get into your heart and you can no longer imagine life without them. This is especially so when the dog lives with you for many years and you get really close.

Sadly, it cannot last forever because dogs are living beings who are destined to cross the rainbow bridge at some point in their life.

That heartbreaking realization just hit two owners from Baltimore, Maryland when their 17-year-old dog became ill.

They immediately took her to the vet, where they learned the saddest possible news. Then everything suddenly changed.

Truly A Miracle

Toy Poodle mix, Luna, who lives with her owners Dr. Melo-Jean Yap and Taina Brown, was adopted seven years ago from Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah.

During all those years, these people lived with her for both happy and sad moments, and could no longer imagine life without her. Unfortunately, one day, Luna’s health started to deteriorate as she wasn’t eating, couldn’t stand, and it seemed that she was shutting down.

They immediately brought her to the veterinary clinic and were heartbroken by the vet’s advice. Namely, the vet suggested that Luna be euthanized. Since her owners didn’t want to prolong her suffering, they agreed with heavy hearts.

However, soon after that, a true miracle happened. Just when Melo-Jean and Taina were preparing for the most difficult moment in their lives, Luna suddenly jumped out of their arms and started walking normally

After that, an even bigger surprise happened – Luna, who hadn’t swallowed anything in days, suddenly started eating her favorite dish. The vets themselves were in shock, not to mention Luna’s owners. In fact, they had never been happier in their lives.

“She wasn’t eating or getting up, so they recommended euthanasia. But here she is and she told us ‘not today’.” Luna’s parents wrote in the caption of the heartwarming video.

The Happiest Update

In the caption of the previous video, Luna’s parents wrote that they were happy that she is still with them. However, they also stated that the worst did not happen “today”, but that sadly they expect it to happen soon.

They continued to monitor her and enjoyed every moment spent with her. During that time, Instagram users who saw this video were eagerly awaiting an update to see how the situation unfolded.

To their general delight, the news could not have been better. In the following video, Luna’s parents stated that the situation regarding her health was improving

“Thanks, y’all for all the 💗 ♥️ for Luna’s healing & recovery over the weekend!” they wrote.

They added that her furry sister Foxy was especially happy that she was back home and that they could play together again.

“They’re both currently at their regular @banfieldpethospital vet for a follow-up check-up. As seniors, we try to get on top of our health. Prevention is 🔑. We love y’all! 💕💕” they wrote.

We love you too, and keep our fingers crossed that you can enjoy time with your beloved dogs for many more years.
