For six months, staff at the Washington County-Johnson City Animal Shelter tried to get Roscoe to open up. The dog never wagged his tail or smiled and always kept to himself. As far as they knew, he had no personality.
The dog had lived on the streets for years not wanting to be touched or interacted with before arriving to the shelter. But one Facebook post would change everything. Staff decided to throw his picture up on social media, and that’s when they got a response from a man saying, “I think that’s my dog and he’s been missing for three years.”
They arranged a visit, and they sat back and watched. Roscoe was hesitant at first, but after a few minutes, the dog who’d never smiled or jumped up broke out of his shell at the realization this was his dad! This was what he had been missing, and he was now a different dog. 🙂
