I imagine that one of the hardest things for almost every shelter worker is taking care of dogs and seeing their sad faces when they realize they did not find their forever home on adoption day.
Shelters can be a tough spot for many dogs. Even though they are loved and well cared for, it’s never a permanent solution, and all of them deserve their happy ending.
However, some pups just don’t have the luck, and they end up staying with the rescue organizations for far too long.
While it’s tragic knowing that things turn out that way, it’s not always like that. Franny is a sweet girl who spent a long time in the shelter, and she, too, is hoping to find a forever home some day.
Just like with other dogs, any time she thought she was going to see her new family, she ended up disappointed, but her story was about to change completely.
Franny Is So Happy
Franny has already spent four months in a shelter in Pennsylvania. Her life there was good, but her rescuers always noticed that she wanted more.
She would get sad very often, especially during their days out. Danielle Baughman, who works at the shelter, would take her out often and would notice that Franny didn’t want to go back.
I guess she believes that her caretaker is taking her to see a new family, but it’s not the case, so she gets really sad.
On one occasion, she was even taken outside by a volunteer named Lindsay, and she also witnessed first hand just how sad she looked whenever they came back.
In Lindsay’s mind, she felt really bad for this sweet pup, so she went back to the shelter and took Franny for a sleepover. She was so happy to spend time in her home.
It became obvious to Lindsay that she wanted to adopt her at that moment. So, the very next day, they enjoyed their time together for a while.
After that, the two of them went to the shelter in Pennsylvania, and Franny got sad thinking she was going back, not knowing the surprise that was waiting for her.
Lindsay signed the adoption papers and this sweet dog was now finally hers. She was so happy when she realized that she was going to her forever home.
A Wholesome Reaction
For Danielle, moments like this are really cherished, and she is always happy to see a sweet dog find his forever home.
So, she makes sure to record these sweet interactions with dogs like Franny because she hopes it would raise awareness about other dogs who need help.
And, it’s safe to say that it really did get a lot of attention on TikTokwhere people shared their thoughts on the entire event.
One person commented: “I wish people would adopt the senior dogs and cats who round up at the shelters after their owners pass away. They not only lose their owner but their home. They are confused, scared and alone not knowing what’s going to happen to them. Thank you for the loving heart you have for animals”
This is a sentiment that I definitely agree with. Just because a dog is older doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of loving just as much as any other pup. They just need a chance to show it.
Another person said: “I had my girl Lena for two days and I had to bring her back to the shelter so I could also sign her papers. She was so upset when we got there and so relieved when I brought her home. Still is!”
It’s good to know that Franny’s story was not the only one. I am glad to see there are more people out there helping dogs like her find a forever home.
Lastly, somebody commented: “Oh she was so sad to be brought back. And so happy to leave.”
Without a doubt, the only thing Franny wanted was a chance to live a normal life with someone special, and she finally got that chance.
I am so glad her story has a happy ending and I hope it inspired more people to give pups like her a chance because they deserve it.
