Dog Left Outside in Freezing Cold Gets Rescued Just in Time

The Animal Charity of Ohio has made a desperate appeal for help after rescuing a dog that was found frozen to the ground and hidden away by its owners.

On Wednesday afternoon, the charity rushed the dog to Medvet Hospital, where humane officers carried him because his legs were “solid ice” and he could not stand.

A Fight for Survival

Upon arrival at the emergency vet hospital, the situation was dire. The dog’s body temperature was so low that it didn’t register on the thermometer.

Despite the grim prognosis, the team at the hospital is doing everything possible to save this senior pup, who has been affectionately named Riser after a local restaurant frequented by the humane agents.

More Pets in Need

As Riser fights for his life, the Animal Charity of Ohio reported that they have rescued 27 animals in the last 36 hours, all suffering from the harsh cold.

Many of these pets are dehydrated, with frozen water sources or no water at all, and some have frost wounds and sores due to years of neglect.

The charity expressed their heartbreak over the situation, stating, “We don’t have words to share anymore. Our hearts are all officially broken.”

How You Can Help

The organization is urging the public to assist in any way possible. Donations are crucial for their ongoing rescue efforts, and items can be dropped off at their new Southern Boulevard location during business hours or left near their doors for staff to collect.

For those who prefer to shop online, donations can be sent to their address at 8469 Southern Blvd, Building 3, Boardman, Ohio 44512. You can also support them through their Amazon wishlist or their Chewy page. Also visit their DONATE page on their website.

A Call for Awareness

The Animal Charity of Ohio reminds pet owners that if it’s too cold for you to be outdoors, it’s too cold for your pets. Please keep these animals in your thoughts and consider donating to help them through this challenging time.
