There’s always plenty of fun and excitement to be had at the doggie daycare center, Pups at Play, in Montclair, New Jersey. But while it might be easy to get swept away in the chorus of happy barks and wagging tails, some dogs might prefer a more subdued vibe from time to time.

Of course, those more mellow pups are worthy of being loved on, too — just ask this dog, Theo, and his dear older sister, Mia.

The other day, Theo was at the daycare with his sister when he noticed that she was being a bit overlooked. Rather than compete with the other, more rambunctious dogs for pats and scratches from the daycare staff, Mia had settled into a corner of the room on her own.

So, amid all of the other things going on, Theo decided to seize the attention of one of one of the staff members to get Mia the TLC she deserves.

He gently grabbed his caretaker’s arm and led him on an adorable mission — delivering affection to Mia.

“This may be the cutest thing you’ll see all day,” Pups at Play wrote. “Gotta go compose myself from crying …”

Seeing the sweet moment on video later, Theo and Mia’s owner, Jesse, was equally moved.

“We were amazed at the fact that Theo led the caretaker to Mia,” Jesse told The Dodo. “Sometimes he’ll gently grab you by the arm when you’re playing, but never have we seen him lead anyone anywhere, let alone to Mia to get some loving. It was the sweetest thing.”

Mia, who’s 12 years old, has slowed down somewhat in her later years, but she still seems to appreciate Theo’s more youthful energy.

Jesse never expected his beloved dogs would get so much fanfare online, but after the video above went viral, they received an outpouring of love.

“Some people were concerned that Theo sensed something wrong with Mia, but we know that is natural behavior for her in her old age,” Jesse said. “All in all, it truly has been so nice to see our pups bring joy to people on the internet as they do every day to us at home!”
