We have already talked about dog friendships multiple times and what role they play in their lives. However, I feel like some people believe that only means ‘human friend.’

While dogs are very social and befriend anyone they see, I think it’s important for them to have meaningful friendships with other dogs as well.

It can help them learn how to behave better, improve their mood and social skills, and it’s also great for helping other humans to bond.

Knowing that, it’s always important to let our dogs make friends so they can live a more fun and adventurous life. What happened in this story is a great example of this.

This woman suspected that her pup made friends with the neighbor’s dog, but she did not expect what happened next.

He Dug A Big Hole

When this sweet dog first met his friend, it seemed like he just wanted to be neighborly and play, but there was a big problem.

There was a huge fence between their yards and there was no way he could reach over it and get into the neighbor’s yard to play with his new dachshund buddy.

So, this pup devised a clever plan to meet with her. He dug quite a large hole in his own backyard to go under the fence.

However, his plan wouldn’t go completely unnoticed. His mom, Lauren, would notice him and she immediately went into the yard to see what was going on.

When she realized what he was going to do, she just burst into laughter. He did quite a good job, but it wasn’t enough to get through completely.

Nevertheless, in the next moment, Lauren saw a head peek through the hole, and it was her dog’s new dachshund friend. It seems that his plan kind of worked. He was able to see her.

A Hilarious Video

While most people would get mad at their dog for making such a mess in the yard, this dog’s owner was pretty cool about it and also found it really hilarious.

So, Lauren posted the entire short clip on TikTok to show everyone just how funny the entire event was for her, and there were a lot of responses to the video.

One person commented: “Okay so now you have to put a little gate there for them.”

That actually seemed like a great idea. It would allow them to spend a lot of time together whenever they want.

Another person said: “Aww you have to send this to your neighbor! How cute!”

Lauren responded to this and told the commenter that she has already sent them the video and they really loved it. There is a good indication that the 2 will be going on play dates soon.

Lastly, someone expressed their joy after seeing the video by commenting: “That’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen omg.”

I agree, and it shows just how important it is for our dogs to have friends. I hope these 2 dogs get to go on many play dates. 

While the dog’s owner will have to fix the damage in her yard, she is very happy that her dog has made a friend and will most certainly help him see her again sometime.
