Recalling the time I had a dog, I remember that he was a really social pup and loved to play with anyone. Now, I regret not getting another dog so he could have a friend.
Even though being with us was enough for him, I still feel like it would be better for every dog to have a sibling with whom he could hang out all the time.
When this couple moved from New Mexico to Colorado, their dog was in the same situation. Back in their old home, he had friends for playdates, but he was completely on his own now, and his parents saw that.
Cambria Was Lonely
Alisha told The Dodo: “We noticed she was getting lonely and wasn’t herself.”
When they saw her sadness, they were so heartbroken for her and realized that they had to do something to help.
The couple would spend their days at work, so Cambria was always on her own in the house, and she really needed a dog sibling.
Alisha understood that, so the couple decided to adopt a new dog so Cambria could have a new dog sibling.
Just as they were about to open the door, Cambria sensed it. Her tail was wagging and she was jumping on the door window to try and see the new dog.
When they entered the house, she could barely contain her excitement, but then her parents introduced her to the new dog named Cozy.
Alisha said: “She just could not even believe that this was happening.”
The two of them met and Cambria warmly greeted her new sibling. At the very beginning, her parents were sure that the two of them would get along just fine.
Cambria And Cozy
Their day would go by, and the two dogs slowly started playing and running around the house. It was really wholesome to see for Alisha.
She said: “But, over the next few days, they blended together so well. And it just felt like we had always had Cozy.”
Now that she had a brand-new friend, Cambria was no longer sad and her cheerfulness had returned for good.
Her parents are so happy and proud of her for accepting Cozy. The two of them are already best friends.
If Cambria’s story can show us anything, it’s that friendships are important not just for us, but for our dogs, too.
Sure, they love us and enjoy being around us, but they also need other dog friends when we can’t be there for them.
Any one of us can get exhausted from a long workday and have a hard time engaging in social activities without dogs.
It’s normal and that’s why it’s so great for them to have puppy siblings at their side. I am so happy everything turned out so great for Cambria. She is a really happy doggo who deserves the best.
