They say that love finds its path, and Bear would definitely agree if he could turn his enthusiastic barks into words.
Dumped by his previous family, this amazing furry boy hadn’t had an easy start in life.
His confidence and trust in humans were completely shattered by abandonment. Although he was a genuinely friendly dog, it took Bear a lot to start feeling like his old self again. But, love found its way and transformed him into a lovebug.
This is his story!
Left With His Sister At Only 5 Months Of Age
Bear’s life turned upside down when he was cruelly abandoned at a monastery with his sister, Heaven. His previous owner no longer wanted him as he was of “no use.” As a five-month-old dog, Bear’s world was completely shattered.
“At only five months old, they had been dumped by their owner who claimed he had no use for them,” Lucky’s Legacy Rescue stated on Facebook.
Thanks to a local monk, he was safely transferred to Lucky’s Legacy.
In the rescue, Bear learned the true meaning of love for the first time. He was cared for and nurtured alongside other dogs and had nice meals, playtime, and plenty of hours to socialize with people.
Sadly, the abandonment took a toll on this sweet boi. He still lacked full trust in humans, especially men, and refused to give in completely.
Then, the phone rang – and in no time, Bear’s new family showed up at the rescue doorstep.
Sam and Chloe, the couple who instantly fell head over heels for Bear, were more than happy to take him home.
As it turned out, it was the best decision they could have ever made!
Bear’s Life With His New Dad Is Beyond Amazing
To be fair, Bear’s first few weeks in the new home were not glamorous. He still had trust issues and was more inclined to his momma than Sam. He would even show disapproval and bark when Sam was around.
But, little did Bear know that love would heal his broken heart and make him obsessed with his new dad. Soon after he realized the amount of attention coming from Sam, Bear instantly took to him.
“He’s like a proper daddy’s boy now. When you get to spend that time with him it means even more because of how nervous he was with me at the start,” Sam told GeoBeats Animals.
Now, the two are inseparable and make every moment memorable. Whether it’s their daily walks, trips to the beach, or entertaining playtime in a park, Bear can’t get enough of it!
“I’ve never seen another dog be more excited to go for a walk than he is,” says Sam.
Slowly, but steadily, this rescue pup has found his place in the world, and he now calls it home. Bear spent the last few months learning how to overcome his separation anxiety and walk past strangers, and the results are incredibly good.
Bear is building toward full confidence with each new day. He decompressed a lot in his new home, ultimately forgetting about the harsh experience from the past that made him insecure in the first place.
He even has a friend – a dog named Lucy who comes from Chloe’s family.
Today, Bear and Lucy are officially best friends, with many exciting adventures waiting for them down the road.
