A Heartwarming Surprise for a Senior Shelter Dog

Jackie was adopted from a shelter when she was a young pup and she was convinced that she had found her forever home.

After spending wonderful years with her owner, her happiness came to an end.

Jackie’s owner passed away and she lost the person she loved the most.

Her owner’s family didn’t want to take care of the sweet doggo so they surrendered her to a shelter in Miami, Florida.

At twelve years of age, Jackie found herself behind shelter bars again, missing her old life and grieving for her beloved owner.

Jackie Finds Hope

At the time, a kind-hearted woman named Kristen Brown was going through the most difficult period of her life. Her beloved dog, Luna, crossed the rainbow bridge after battling a brain tumor.

Brown and her fiancée wanted to welcome another dog into their lives but they knew they needed some time to grieve the loss of their doggo.

Unfortunately, another tragedy happened in Brown’s life. Her father took his own life and the terrible news left her feeling heartbroken.

In order to deal with her grief, Brown decided to visit the local shelter, adopt a dog, and give her all her love.

She had a lot of love to give to a shelter dog and she hoped that she would help her heal.

Once Brown arrived at the shelter, she asked to see the oldest dog and the staff took her to Jackie’s kennel. The kind woman learned that the senior doggo was on the euthanasia list.

When she noticed Brown, Jackie looked at her with sorrowful eyes as if she wanted to tell her about her hardships.

Brown promised Jackie that she would save her and give her a new life.

The dog was dealing with several health issues. Jackie was suffering from bronchitis and she had a lump on her leg.

She was also battling a severe ear infection that was left untreated for a year. As a result, her ear canal was completely closed.

Knowing that Jackie had those ailments didn’t stop Brown from adopting her. She couldn’t wait to take her home and nurse her back to health.

A New Life That Jackie Deserved

Jackie was in disbelief when her new mom came to the shelter and picked her up. Once the doggo realized that she was leaving the shelter with her, she started wagging her tail and smiling from ear to ear.

Brown took Jackie to the vet where she was examined and given treatment for her ear infection.

Fortunately, the tests showed that the lump on the doggo’s leg was benign.

Jackie brought a lot of love and joy into Brown and her family’s life.

The big-hearted woman believes that Luna and Brown’s late father sent Jackie into her life so that she would mend her broken heart.

Thanks to the medical care she received and her mom’s endless love, Jackie’s health has improved. Her ear infection has resolved and her bronchitis improved after her mom got her an inhaler.
