Tiny Starving Pup Appears On Woman’s Doorstep At Her Vacation Home, Only To Receive The Nicest Gift

Jess has always been fond of dogs, but Roo took her by surprise.

During the three weeks of her stay in a vacation home, she kept appearing every morning on her doorstep, looking for some comfort.

The minute she was shown some kindness and love, she decided to stay near and sleep under Jess’ house, just in case. But, what Roo received in return a few weeks later changed her life completely!

She Almost Didn’t Look Like A Dog

Jess’s heart broke when she first saw Roo curled up in front of her door. She was looking for some help, given her emaciated body and the fact that she barely moved.

Given her appearance, Roo looked like she hadn’t eaten in days, and Jess decided to intervene.

“When we first saw her she almost didn’t even look like a dog. She was hunched over eating some food, and she was so skinny. She was just small and frail as well,” Jess told Cuddle Buddies.

Despite everything, Roo has never taken her hauntingly cute smile off her face. She was just glad that Jess gave her a fighting chance, so the dog followed her everywhere.

Three weeks later, it was resolved – Roo had to come home with Jess, and not only as a foster! She deserved a forever home and someone to be her companion – and that someone was Jess!

Before the two embarked on a brand new adventure, Roo was subjected to a vet exam. That’s when another shock struck Jess!

Roo wasn’t a 12-week-old puppy as she initially thought, but an almost fully grown-up dog!

“I thought she was a 12 week old German shepherd mix, after a trip to the vets it turns out she was already 6 months old and weighing 4.9 kg,” Jess wrote in an Instagram post.

The two said one last goodbye to a vacation home and began a beautiful journey together.

It is safe to say that, from that moment on, Roo finally learned what true love meant – in every way!

Today, Roo Is Unrecognizable

Jess and Roo spent months adjusting to a life together. Roo soon came out of her shell and transformed into a beautiful pup who looked nothing like her old self.

“I was told she wouldn’t grow much more, but fast forward to now, she’s quadrupled in size,” Jess said.

Then, her true, quirky character started to unfold!

Roo enjoyed occasional mischief and “creative messes” for the sake of fun. She also loved stepping into every puddle she passed – and Jess couldn’t be happier to see her thrive.

Soon enough, this rescue pooch grew into a real companion. She couldn’t wait for each day to rise, eager to meet as many friends as possible.

Roo became a people-oriented doggo, an adventurer, a hiker, and a real city girl! She was a whole package!

Jess is forever grateful for the opportunity to have stumbled upon Roo that day. In a way, it’s as if this sweet girl adopted her, not the other way around.

“I’m forever grateful for my little sidekick Ru and it’s very obvious she’s loving life too,” Jess concludes in another post.

Today, Roo lives the happiest life possible, far away from the uncertainty and not knowing where her next meal would come from. She has a home, a friend, and a whole lot of adventures coming her way!
