Police Officers Were Stunned To Find 6 Puppies In A Dog Park With A Note Right Next To Them

Taking care of abandoned animals is not an easy task. Yet, there are people and institutions that take this job seriously, and thanks to them, these four-legged furballs manage to find a roof over their heads.

One such institution is the Morrisville Borough Police Department in Pennsylvania.

Upon receiving a call about six dogs abandoned at a local dog park, the department spared no time and immediately rushed to the scene, finding a heartbreaking note alongside the canines.

The Note Explained Everything

The officials came across a distressing scene at the park.

Six dogs were running freely with no supervision or human claiming ownership. The only thing left behind was a note revealing the dogs’ heartbreaking situation.

According to the note, the dogs had been rescued from an elderly woman who couldn’t take care of them properly. The woman already had too many dogs and not enough food to support them all, which is why she ultimately agreed to give them up.

The note further disclosed that the brown dogs are a year and a half old, and the fluffy ones are slightly less than a year old.

However, the real problem arose when the rescuer could not take the dogs to their apartment. The building’s rules prohibited pets, resulting in all six being left in the park.

“The unknown person that brought these dogs to the Morrisville Dog Park attempted to keep them, but was not able to due to their apartment’s rules and they believed that the Morrisville Dog Park was the best solution for these dogs per the letter,” MBPD said in the official statement.

The person considered the park to be the safest place to leave the canines, hoping they would soon find forever homes.

Thanks to the Morrisville community, three dogs immediately found homes with neighbors, while the other three ended up at Bucks County SPCA, Lahaska, Pennsylvania.

The Case Is Still Unresolved

As much as the police department appreciates the act of rescue, they emphasized that this isn’t the proper way to take care of animals in need.

Leaving dogs in a dog park instead of in a shelter is an unsafe approach. That’s why they urge everyone with a similar problem to contact their local SPCA or police department.

“Please surrender your animals to shelters and do not abandon them, even if the intentions are in good faith,” they added in the statement.

As for this particular case, the MBPD would like to get in contact with the person that rescued the dogs. At this time, they are concerned about the remaining dogs that are in the possession of the original owner.

“Although the Morrisville Borough Police Department does not condone the abandonment of any animals, there is a larger issue in this case that we would like to isolate and make sure these animals are all safe,” the Police Department wrote.

Saving animals from poor living conditions should always be the top priority, and the kind officers from Morrisville Borough Police Department know it.

They will continue to work on the case until all the pups are completely safe.
