The other day, Ivonne La Crespa was walking near her home in Bogota, Colombia, when, on the bustling city sidewalk, something caught her eye.

A short ways away, in front of a shopping complex, sat a little dog in a tiny uniform emblazoned with the words “private security.” The pup, positioned next to a human security guard, dutifully kept watch over the area as La Crespa passed by.

She was smitten — and couldn’t keep the sighting to herself.

“Today I have to share with you the most beautiful thing I saw today in the whole world,” La Crespa wrote on X:

This wasn’t a one-time thing. After coming across La Crespa’s post, X user @im_therealsun shared that she’d spotted the little security dog before, too.

“As soon as I saw him, I stopped in my tracks,” im_therealsun told The Dodo. “It made my day to see him so calm and elegant in his uniform.”

Thanks to those posts, it wasn’t long before the adorable little security dog went viral online. But the story of how he landed that trusted position at the shopping complex is cuter still.

The Dodo reached out to management of the shopping center and came to learn that the dog’s name is Jordan Ignacio. He’s about 3 years old and is the cherished pet of Jesus Porras, a fashion designer who runs a business there.

Not wanting Jordan to be lonely at home, Porras started bringing him to work, but the dog preferred to lounge in the sun near the sidewalk.

One day, however, a passerby mistook Jordan for a stray and tried to take him. So, using his sewing machine, Porras designed him a little outfit to make his presence out front feel more official.

Since donning his uniform, Jordan hasn’t again been mistaken for a stray. But it has made him a celebrity of sorts, earning him the nickname Celadog.

Nowadays, the sidewalk in front of the shopping complex has become a go-to spot among locals.

It seems that everyone can rest a little easier knowing that Jordan’s on the job.

Of course, after his security guard shifts, Jordan gets to hang up his uniform and relax at home.

It’s all in a day’s work.
