Who can say? 

But, I bet many are revisiting this dilemma after seeing a joyful photo of Emma, a tiny missing dog, and her owner, Cheyenne.

After five long months of not seeing each other, this Alabama owner had completely given up hope of ever finding her dog again. 

Then, she walked into the shelter where Cheyenne works, not having the slightest idea that she was about to hear her owner’s voice again. How about that!

Incredible Journey Back Home

Five months ago, Cheyenne Campbell, a shelter volunteer from Alabama, let her dog, Emma, outside to use the bathroom. When she tried to call her back, Emma was nowhere to be found.

How she disappeared and what made her run away from her home remains a mystery. Emma is an indoor dog and loves her family, yet that night, she walked away. 

“Emma is an inside dog but when she was let outside to use the bathroom, she disappeared. Her family looked for her and couldn’t find her. This was 5 months ago.” Second Chance Shelter wrote in a Facebook post.

Cheyenne and her family spent the following months searching high and low, posting, calling around, and going door to door, but there was no success. Not a single person in the neighborhood saw her or heard anything about her.

Days passed and the owner eventually made peace with the fact that Emma might never come home.

Then, one day, everything changed!

Emma was miraculously brought to 2nd Chance Shelter in Alabama… Cheyenne’s workplace. As it turned out, Emma’s rescuer was the woman who lived about ten miles from the dog’s original home.

After she picked her up, she spent months trying to locate her owners. When that didn’t work out, she decided to surrender Emma to the shelter.

At first, Emma was so nervous, but all that was about to change within seconds. 

The dog was behind the counter when she heard her long-lost owner’s voice. The rest, as they say, is history!

Within seconds, Emma melted and began jumping, so relieved and happy to finally see Cheyenne.

“Emma was behind the counter and when Cheyenne started talking, Emma went crazy wagging her tail and jumping,” the Alabama shelter added.

Enjoy Your Second Chance, Emma

Emma and Cheyenne’s reunion truly took the internet by storm. Their story soon spread nationwide, leaving people in awe. 

“So happy for Emma and her family,” one commenter wrote.

“Wonderful story! So glad you got your baby back,” another added.

One thing is for sure: Emma and her owner won’t part their ways anymore. After this heartbreaking ordeal, there’s no doubt Cheyenne and her family have done everything to secure their beloved pet. And, now they get to enjoy their second chance!

“It was surely fate that brought Emma to the shelter where her mama works. Go enjoy your second chance in life with your family Emma,” the shelter concluded.
