On a journey to help a dog, many rescuers will go through a lot of trials and tribulations. A lot of dogs who are saved from the street often need a thorough evaluation.

This way, the rescuers can make sure they are not a danger to anyone, so they can begin helping them process and deal with their trauma.

Even then, accidents can happen, but that won’t stop these amazing rescuers who are doing their best to help these pups live a normal life.

When Duke Hemstreet first met Anakin at a shelter in Texas, it looked like this dog had given up, but Duke knew he was going to make it and decided to help this dog by giving him a new chance.

When Duke first took in Anakin and tried to help him, he noticed that the dog did not even bother looking at him. He looked seriously depressed.

After a while, Duke was able to get his attention, and he decided to give him the chance he deserved. He did a temperament evaluation to see what he needed to work on with this dog.

He found out pretty quickly that Anakin doesn’t like being tied on a leash, and sharing a bowl with some other dog is a big no as well.

Duke assumed that he was held in an environment with a lot of other dogs where he had to fight for food, which has been causing him problems ever since.

He knew instantly that if Anakin found a new home, it would likely have to be one with no small children. 

Considering how children behave sometimes, they could accidentally pull on Anakin’s bowl and this could cause serious issues.

Anakin Has A Bright Future Ahead

Duke wanted him to have the best chance of succeeding, and he was really an amazing dog who just needed a little guidance on his new journey.

When they started working through many issues with him, they realized that Anakin just needed love and care, just like any dog.

He was almost the perfect companion, and Duke wanted to emphasize that. As time went on, Anakin became even more confident and was starting to look different.

This pup had some skin and flea problems, but all of that was taken care of, thanks to Duke. Anakin’s fur was also starting to change.

They groomed his fur all the time, and he now has a shiny new coat. Anakin looks really happy and healthy.

Because he had such amazing people to help him, it’s very likely that he will be able to find a new home in Texas sometime in the future. 

I am really glad to see that he is doing a lot better and now has a solid prospect of living the life he always wanted. 

We don’t know if Anakin was adopted or not yet, but I’m sure that Duke will stop at nothing to make sure he finds the perfect family.
