Shelter Dog’s Priceless Reaction When She Realizes She’s Being Adopted

Dogs. Our beloved mind readers and unconditional supporters! They stand with us through literally everything: happiness, storms, heartbreaks, lazy days… you name it.

That’s why it is not uncommon for these four-legged cuddle bugs to develop the ability to predict our needs and act accordingly or even to help us figure things out that we didn’t think we could handle on our own.

Even shelter dogs who have never experienced life in a loving home possess this superpower.

Take Veronica, for example. During her days of waiting for the perfect human to find her, she developed a keen sense of knowing when things were right. And, this time, her intuition made thousands of people cry tears of joy!

It’s Like She Knew

If Walton County Animal Services in Florida could describe Veronica in only two words, they would be: gentle and loving. She’s literally both! Despite being only a one-year-old pup (Lab mix), it’s safe to say that Veronica is an old soul.

What’s even more fascinating is the fact that not so long ago, she was found roaming the streets as a stray. And yet, she has mastered her social skills as if she had been in training all along.

But, here’s where things got even better.

When Veronica’s adoptive mom arrived at the shelter and chose her to be her new dog, this Lab girl did something truly amazing.

During the paperwork process, Veronica slowly, almost invisibly, crawled up to her adopter, giving her the most heartwarming look. Then, just moments later, she gently leaned into her lap and hugged her, as if she had known all along that this was the person who would adopt her.

Talk about intuition! She clearly sensed what was happening, and the video captured by the Florida rescue went viral in no time!

“You can’t tell us they don’t know when they get adopted…they most certainly do,” the Florida shelter wrote in the video.

Only hours later, the reactions to Veronica’s intuitive act of love were flooding the rescue’s official TikTok account.

“This made me cry. It’s like she was saying please don’t change your mind,” one commenter wrote.

“She saying mommy please hurry up filling out the paperwork so we can go home because I’m so happy,” another added.

Veronica’s Case Isn’t Exclusive

While I like to think that every dog is unique and special, Veronica’s intuitive reaction to being adopted isn’t entirely exclusive.

Just recently, the same Florida shelter shared another heartwarming video of a dog named Luna, whose response was really similar to Veronica’s

As her new mom completed the paperwork, Luna stood on the chair overlooking the entire process and waiting for that “Hey, let’s go home” moment to arrive. Truly amazing.

“Luna stood like this the whole time her new mom was filling out her adoption papers,” the rescue wrote.

The question remains – how do they do it

I guess some depths within our furry companions will remain untouched. But, then again, isn’t that the whole beauty of it?
