A lot of dogs go through some kind of heartbreaking experience in their lives. If only that weren’t the case, but it happens to a lot of pups in this world.

The worst kind for me is when a dog has spent years in a loving home only for their owners to neglect and abandon them like they were never a part of the family.

The poor pup won’t even be able to process what happened to him or why he was left by his owner, but he will know that something is wrong.

Unfortunately for this pup, he has been in that situation more than once, so he understood what happened to him the second time, but he still hoped the owner would come back for him.

While that unfortunately won’t happen, a kind woman saw this abandoned dog and decided to call rescuers to help.

Abandoned By Everyone

When the rescuers came to pick him up, they found out a lot about him. They were told that he was abandoned by his owners and he had spent three weeks lying in the same spot.

It was really cold, but he would never move. The kind woman who first reported him covered him with a coat so he could stay warm.

He was a senior dog, so he didn’t really have much strength left in him. When the rescuers examined him closely, there was heartbreak in his eyes.

They couldn’t believe that he had been waiting there for three weeks. After this shock, they took him to see a veterinarian who could examine him.

When they did a checkup, the dog was just silent. They could tell he was still very heartbroken over what had happened to him.

The veterinarians found that he was both dehydrated and malnourished. He also had some abnormalities in his liver.

Horrible News For Bucks

They had to do a CT scan on him, and that’s when the heartbreaking news arrived. The scan revealed that the pup had a tumor in his ear and on his head.

When everyone heard this, they were struck by enormous heartbreak. This poor pup had already suffered so much…why does this have to happen?

Soon after that, his rescuers learned something more about him. As it turned out, he had two families before. His first owners abandoned him when he was seven years old.

They left him in the shelter and that’s where he was picked up by new owners. However, his new owners did the same thing six years later, but this time, the poor pup ended up on the streets.

The veterinarians were considering their options for the dog. Because he was too old, surgery was just too risky for him. Soon, though, they also found a tumor on his chest.

This just complicated things even more. The rescuers loved this pup, now named Bucks, and wanted to help him, but there was just little they could do at this point.

So, the decision was made not to go through with any of the therapies because there was no chance of success, and he deserved to live out the time he had with a little happiness.

Bucks Enjoyed His Last Days

His rescuers took Bucks home and cared for him. He got a chance to eat great food, take walks in the park, and just enjoy himself.

Even though he got weaker, they tried making it easy for him to bear with some painkillers. Soon, they found out that the tumor had spread a lot and the painkillers did little to help.

His rescuers tried giving him some peace and love, but his time was soon approaching. They were just heartbroken. Bucks didn’t deserve this.

However, when the time came, Bucks crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully while being surrounded by the people who loved and cared for him the whole time.

Even though his life was filled with hardships, there was some comfort in knowing that he got to enjoy his last days with the people who truly loved him.
