Rescuers Help Dog Taste Freedom After Years in a Cage

As humans, we tend to believe that freedom is one of the most important things in life. Without freedom, we barely have our identity, the chance to fulfill our dreams, or the ability to do things that we want to do.

Dogs, although not following the same rationale, feel the same about freedom. Therefore, when they are confined to a small cage or stuck on a chain, they are almost completely cut off from all the joys of life.

Onion, now lovingly nicknamed Noni, knew this feeling very well for the first six years of her life.

Life Did Get Better

Life hasn’t been easy on Noni. She was a victim of a terrible hoarding situation, sharing a home with over thirty other dogs. During the first six years, she knew nothing but a small cage set inside the house.

Noni was used for breeding and had multiple litters. However, each time after giving birth, she was forced to kiss her babies goodbye and watch them being sold for money.

Eventually, thanks to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), she was rescued and relocated to a local rescue center where she met Blossom, her new mom.

What struck Noni’s new owner the most was how, despite her past, Noni was genuinely sweet and sociable.

“We rescued Noni from the RSPCA where she had been seized from a neglectful hoarding situation. Considering her background and lack of exposure to the world, she is the gentlest, most trusting and sweet girl, trying her best to be brave,” Blossom wrote on Instagram.

The two bonded instantly, starting a beautiful journey together, far from confined spaces or any uncertainties.

Noni even got a big brother, her doggo sibling, Cabbage

After the initial adaptation to a new environment, everyone expected Noni to relax and get comfortable with the family at her own pace. Yet, she immediately became the biggest lovebug, leaving her owners and Cabbage shocked!

Noni Has It All

It’s safe to say that Noni embraced her new life with an open heart. She is literally enjoying every moment, from her exciting walkies to adventurous trips to the beach.

Thanks to Blossom, her husband, and Cabbage, Noni tasted freedom in its essence and couldn’t be happier. Today, she is a lover, a friend, a companion, and the epitome of the perfect pet!

Making a promise to Noni that from the day of her rescue, life would only get better, she couldn’t be more thankful for seeing her new furry princess evolve.

“The day I met my rescue dog, I promised her that life would get better and I hope to keep that promise, every day, for the rest of her life,” Blossom wrote on Instagram.

Noni transformed into an energetic dog who loves to do zoomies around the house. She also likes to keep her mom and dad company wherever they go. Noni, against all odds, preserved her cheerful spirit and became a real social butterfly.

Today, she’s as happy as a dog can be, and nothing can stop her!
