With his heart filled with fear and uncertainty, a little puppy rummaged through the garbage dump, looking for something to eat.

The pup missed his mom who used to be with him at the dump. 

Feeling lonelier than ever before, he longed to see her again and bury his face in her embrace.

Since the furbaby spent his days surrounded by trash and rocks, he didn’t dare to dream about getting his happy ending.

Little did the puppy know that his whole life would change in an instant in ways he couldn’t even imagine.

The Puppy Gets The Biggest Surprise

One day, Nimiyikowin and her boyfriend, Tav, came to the dump and noticed the sad little puppy. He was walking in the dump and desperately sniffing the ground. 

The moment they saw him, the couple decided to take him home.

They already had six dogs on the shared rural property where they lived and knew that they could give him the life he deserved.

When the furball saw the good humans approaching him, he didn’t run away. He sensed that they were good humans.

They picked him up and the pup surrendered to them as if he had been waiting for them all along.

The couple were certain that the furball was abandoned. 

Wishing to make sure that there were no other littermates left behind, the good people checked the dump and its surroundings, but they didn’t find any other dogs.

They placed the sweet furbaby in the car, wrapped him in a blanket, and drove him home. 

During the ride, the couple stroked his head and the puppy took in their affection, sensing that he was with the right people. 

The pooch felt so relaxed and carefree that he fell asleep in the car. 

A Forever Home He Always Dreamed Of

Once he moved in with his new parents, the furbaby spent a lot of time sleeping. 

As soon as the pup recharged his energy, he began enjoying his new home and wagging tail. He loved cuddling with his humans and absorbing their love.

Nimiyikowin posted a video of the puppy’s rescue on TikTok and it became viral. Everyone fell in love with the adorable pup and wished to know more about him.

The couple decided to name the furbaby Oci (Oh-tsih).

They continued to look for Oci’s mom until they learned more about the puppy and his mother’s background.

“Oci’s mom was taken in by a rescue group last week but Oci had escaped. They kept coming back for him but apparently he always hid under a dumpster bin so they could never grab him,” Nimiyikowin wrote in an Instagram post.

The giant-hearted humans felt like Oci chose them to be his parents because he didn’t hide from them on the day when they came to the dump. 

The more time the puppy’s parents spent with him, the more they loved him.

“Each day that passes, my love grows for Oci… This lil guy is a miracle and I adore him,” his mom shared on Instagram.

In one of the updates about the puppy, Nimiyikowin and her boyfriend revealed that they decided to train Oci so that he could become a service dog.

The pup enjoys his new life in his home. He loves going on walks with his humans and spending time with his family’s cats and dogs.

Oci feels adored and cherished like he always dreamed of.
