When a dog totally loses his trust in people, then you know that he has been a target of heartless humans who either neglected or abused him. 

One day, when Megan Lombardi and her team went to Skid Row in Los Angeles, California, to deliver dog supplies, they came across just such a furry being. 

This poor dog was so scared of people that she hid in terror from them, even though they only wanted to help her. 

Megan and her fellow rescuers were totally heartbroken because of this sight and they knew they had to help her immediately in order to heal the deep wounds on her soul.  

Fearful And All Alone

Since Megan has been a member of Love At First Mutt for many years, she is very experienced and knows how dogs who have trust issues react when they are confronted by people. 

Based on this dog’s reaction, she had zero trust which meant that she had a tragic past. This poor thing was full of fear and all alone. Luckily, that exact fact only motivated Megan to do everything to make this pup smile again. 

It wasn’t at all easy as she and her teammates barely managed to put the leash around her neck. After they accomplished that, this dog, who was around one year old, became extremely timid and was shaking uncontrollably. 

Yet, Megan did not stop comforting her and giving her all her love, so she eventually started to relax a bit. For this big-hearted rescuer, that was the best sign that a bright future was ahead of this dog. 

To help her on her way to some better days, Megan decided to give her a foster home in order for this sweet girl to understand that good people truly exist. 

She also gave her a new name — Rue. 

New Life Full Of Trust

As soon as they came home, her new foster mom gave Rue delicious and nutritious food and some water, and her eyes were full of gratitude. However, she still hesitated to fully trust Megan and seek out much-needed attention from her. 

Fortunately, that changed very quickly, and Rue finally started to fully understand that this woman meant no harm and that she was safe and sound in a warm home. 

One day, she suddenly blossomed from a sad willow into the most beautiful flower. She ran around the house with happiness, hugged her foster mom whenever she could, and did not take the smile off her face. It was a life she had never known before – a new life full of trust.

Megan was over the moon because she managed to heal one very wounded soul. Unfortunately, since she has many rescue duties with her crew at Love At First Mutt in Los Angeles, California, she won’t be able to keep Rue much longer. 

Because of that, in her latest TikTok video featuring Rue’s rescue, she asked everyone interested in adopting this sweet girl to contact Love At First Mutt. 

This dog, who is the symbol of hope for many forgotten animals left to fend for themselves on the street, deserves nothing less than a warm home and a loving family who would never betray her.
