Nevertheless, his life had not been all sunshine and rainbows. Before having a permanently caring house and all that web popularity, Meaty had to invest his days in a sanctuary in Central Valley.
Thankfully, a kind-hearted lady named Lisa Reilly rescued him and gave him a 2nd chance in life.
She said that she first spotted him in a photo posted on Facebook by Fresno Bully Rescue, a no-kill shelter in California.
” Well, he appears like a bowling ball,” Reilly claimed. “It’s difficult to truly tell just exactly how short he is in person, but he’s so low to the ground and wide like a Mack Vehicle. And he would simply barrel into you like a bowling ball of canine fat when we initially got him. Thus, he came to be known as ‘The Meatball,’ Meaty for short.”.
Meaty thaw Lisa’s heart and reminded her of her old dog, Cat, who had actually passed away due to major illness. For this reason, she decided to take him house and provided him the love and treatment he desperately needed.
” Fresno Bully Rescue did a fantastic work nursing Meaty from the very first time I saw him until I was able to bring him house,” Reilly informed The Dodo.
And since the day he was saved from the sanctuary, he hasn’t stopped smiling. He quickly bonded with her various other rescued pit bulls, Punky and Ricardo Tubbs, as well as dachshunds Bitty and Dappe.
” One advantage to having a fat dog is that he’s extremely treat inspired,” Reilly discusses. “He’s also extremely toy motivated and likes to play. So he wants to ‘work’ for any type of toy or treat, that makes taking pictures of him so easy.”.
As you can see from the photos listed below, Meaty is so happy, and the wide grin on his face is all natural!
” He’s really a mother’s boy, though, and simply intends to be next to me all the time,” Reilly claimed. “It’s great to have though, as you really can’t have a bad day when he’s around. I would certainly dare anyone not to smile being near him.”.
