So many dogs suffer from heartbreaking neglect, and are found on the streets in terrible condition. But with a little love and care, these forgotten animals can get a second chance.
That was the case for one dog named Rodney, who made an incredible transformation: a year after being found as a mangey, abandoned street dog, looks completely different.
Rodney was rescued by the charity Happy Doggo in January 2023. The puppy had been abandoned on the streets of Thailand, and was in heartbreaking shape: he was suffering from a severe skin condition that resulted in almost all his fur being gone, and he was starving and underweight.
The rescue took him in, provided plenty of much-needed food, clothes to keep him warm without his fur, and most importantly plenty of love and affection.
Rodney is a tiny puppy who pulled off the biggest comeback you could ever imagine. This is his story as told by Rodney himself #dogs#dog#dogsoftiktok#puppy
Soon, the tiny pup who first seemed to be on his last legs was thriving, running around happy as can be, and with his skin condition healing and his fur growing back he was looking like a totally different dog.
According to a TikTok, Rodney was adopted three months after his rescue by a family in Wales. “He is proof that you should never give up,” Happy Doggo wrote.

More than a year later, Happy Doggo shared another update. A video posted on July 27, which has gone viral with nearly 25 million views, highlights how that scared and helpless pup rescued last year has now blossomed into a beautiful, confident grown dog.
It’s a story that shows the power of providing love and care to the creatures who need it the most: “To be loved, is to be changed,” Happy Doggo wrote.
Rodney’s journey touched many people online. “God bless you for helping and saving him,” one comment on TikTok reads.
“Really this made me cry,” another wrote.
“It actually kills me knowing this cruelty still goes on, this world is a sick place,” another comment reads. “These little guys haven’t done anything wrong, they just want to be loved, they all deserve the world.”
All dogs deserve love and a second chance ❤️ We’re so happy that Rodney is thriving in his new home!
