Senior Dog Waits Patiently Outside Pet Shop Every Morning For It To Open

It’s 7:30 a.m. in Wilde, Argentina, and Naty, the owner of El Arca Veterinaria, is on her way to work. She’s planning out her to-do list before opening the clinic, which doubles as a busy pet supplies shop, but her plans immediately halt when she notices a familiar face waiting for her on the sidewalk.

A black senior dog, whom Naty lovingly calls Negra, has memorized the business owner’s schedule. She stops by daily and refuses to let Naty work until she receives her favorite thing: free treats from the store.

Naty relies on her business, which means every sale matters. But when it comes to Negra demanding treats, Naty can’t say no.

“Who’s waiting for me at 7:30 in the morning?” Naty said to Negra in an Instagram video. “Hi, my Negra. I’ll open up the shop for you right away.”

After a few head scratches, Negra allows Naty to enter the building and waits outside for the shop to open. As soon as the garage-style door begins to lift, Negra sticks her head and front paws through the opening until she finally has enough space to squeeze through.

As the first customer of the day, Negra has full rein in the store. She sniffs every container until she finds her favorite chew sticks.

Despite her pushy approach to entering the store, Negra has the utmost manners when asking for treats. She motions toward her selection, looks at Naty, then waits for the go-ahead.

“Are you stealing treats? Could it be that you’re stealing, or are you asking permission?” Naty said in an Instagram video. “Of course, you’re asking permission! Which one do you want? You like the stick? There, grab the stick — I’ll allow it.”

Negra grabs her desired chew stick and gently pulls it out of the container. She gobbles it up in a heartbeat and immediately goes back to ask for more. It’s a cycle that she loves repeating.

“Another stick? It doesn’t seem like too much to you? I’ve given you, like, four already …” Naty said. “OK, one more.”

Negra loves nothing more than spending the morning in Naty’s shop. Especially when the owner’s treat-loving dog, Salvador, is around.

“They demand treats,” Naty said in an Instagram video of the two pups. “If we don’t give it to them, they picket us and don’t let us open the place.”

You can watch Salvador and Negra beg for treats here:

Despite showing up at the shop begging for treats, Negra is far from hungry. She lives with a loving family a few doors down who, no matter how hard they try, can’t keep the girl from escaping to the clinic each day.

“I am her owner,” Griselda Tiziano commented on Instagram. “We give her lots of love at home, but she loves to go to her veterinarian. Her name is Luna.”

After Luna, or Negra, enjoys four or five of her favorite treats, she gets her final head scratches from Naty before heading back home for a nap. It takes a community to raise Negra, and everyone is more than happy to be involved.

“It shows that she’s well cared for and is super affectionate,” Naty responded to Tiziano’s comment. “Negra Luna is so good. Thank you for loving her.”
